Cabinetry + Furniture Design
| Role: Global supplier sourcing and product design Supplier locations: United States, Italy Client: Residential homeowners Carol Tanner worked on residential design/build projects for several years. The beautiful custom lakeside vacation retreats are located outside Seattle, Washington, and came to life through Carol's clear design specs and tight project management. Designing kitchens with theatrical lighting, introducing industrial materials in unexpected places, and experimenting with unique surface finishes set Carol's homes apart from the norm. Surprise elements included refashioning windows from a historical site for use as cupboard doors, and varying the heights and surfaces used for countertops. Copper sheeting used for island surfaces got the attention of local magazine publishers and began a trend used by other new home builders in the lakeside community. Carol's furniture designs often incorporated recycled elements and exaggerated proportions, generating a strong following by clients looking for unpredictable pieces for their interiors.
